Never a Turkey
What was the first Thanksgiving really about
There was never a turkey, just squash, geese and trout
Did the natives bring jerky
Well, the history's murky

Two Pumpkin Seeds
There is more than one kind of pumpkin seed.
One can be eaten, the other does feed.
A red dotted fish.
Or squash with a wish.
Both handsome specimens of nature indeed.

And while you are at it start to wash,
Bottom to top;
Do not stop;
Off all of the surface of yellow squash.
