My puppy looked up with needy eyes,
Begging for a little woofy surprise,
She wagged her tail and licked her lips
As I fed her tasty, fresh ham strips,
I think she's a food-napper in disguise.

Our young beau just could not have known
That the lady, when young, had been shown

Thus  balked, he walked home on his own.
