This is for a poet named john smith who disappeared here years ago. I never knew what became of him!!

A fine poet and doctor is he But my chats with him stopped suddenly. He cut into me good. It makes sense that he would since his specialty is surgery!

Congrats on your placement Andrea. Sorry that he abruptly stopped correspondence. That's always disconcerting. But with a name like John Smith, did you really expect him to stick around. :) Sounds like he was on the lam. :)

To answer your question about Are You Dead. It is actually fiction. The someone you are thinking about from my life story was my boyfriend who died when he hopped a train.

Hello Andrea, I love limericks and come to soup whenever I can for a dose of some good laughs. In your limerick, you're cut to the quick, but you got to the heart of the matter...That no matter what, a friend is a friend, that if he would come back, his quick departure won't matter...A 7 and more smiles from the land of thousand isles...Kim :)

Andrea dear poetic friend of mine; I know certainly how you feel sweet writer, and I have the silk cloth which I am willing to part with if indeed it becomes necessary to wipe the feelings of your loss from your precious eyes. I know that the comparison may be off when it comes to your missing friend and myself, yet, I still am offering my friendship to you Andrea, to use as you feel compelled to..........

and as regard the kerchief my dear Andrea, if there is tint, abreast its infant template....please do not feel obligated to return it in its taintless condition; keep it as hindsight ;) Have a blessed week Andrea, much love, james

Andrea, a great tribute to John Smith, it is unsettling when poet friends disappear suddenly, you always wonder, best of luck in the contest and thanks for visiting my poem Missing Linda-Marie, of course her death came as a shock to all of us, I was so heartbroken that when people were sponsoring tribute contests for her I just could not write anything, I kept the pain inside but now, I can let it go ~~

I know , it's such a shame. How can I find a JOHN SMITH in this country? There must be close to a million??

Maybe he made a house call in Tibet somewhere and got snowed in? GREAT stuff from The Sonnet Queen and Limerick Princess of the Soup...

It hurts when we lose contact with a friend so abruptly. It has happened to me recently and I only hear from him every now and then... I enjoyed the humor in this sad poem. A great limerick, Andrea. Good luck in SKAT's contest!

A wonderful tribute . . . yes, the question that always comes up . . . why, why indeed? I believe the quest for the answer is a worthy pursuit. Much love and light
