You may intended to convey a message too. I don't want spoil it. I simply laughed with my family. Thanks for sharing it with us. Poor animal, anyway.

Stopped back to make this a Favorite. I think "Escape" though that does not have to be to make this poem. For a person to be an elephant would be an escape, and to marry the mahout would be too, because of course that's not what elephants can do, usually, and then to escape the earthly bonds and gravity, later to escape even life itself. Probir, I think this earth is indeed our paradise.

Perhaps the elephant wants a chance to turn the tables, so to speak.... :: laughing... ::

You have interpreted it your way which is indeed beautiful ... As far as I know an elephant vis a vis his Mahout , the elephant , if given a chance , would very much like to ... ... ... And if quenched, fall or float matters not much ... Thank you ...

7! Probir, I love this. There are many reasons, and I'm tempted to get very wordy about them, yet I could hammer away for a long time and still there would be hidden essences.

The way you multi-interpret it, my poem is more rewarded than 'placement' ... thank you ...

"Then fall down in a skeleton" - I thought of this many times today. I can't explain it; it's like a painting or other visual art that entrances you without you being sure why.

Very nice lim'rik, Probir, plus I learned a word I didn't know — mahout. May your skeleton land in paradise! ~ john
