His Funeral

That he planned his funeral is factual And being a prankster quite actual He prerecorded his voice So when we kneeled on the joist He said, "Hi there! Don't I look natural."

Interesting work..Who did he get to play the tape recording at the proper time so that it would be funny?? Sorry for your loss..It is good that he tried to make people laugh at a sad occasion..Sara

Unfortunately this does not follow the conventions of a limerick. First of all, you only have near-rhymes. "factual" and "actual" don't rhyme with "natural." And neither does "voice" rhyme properly with "joist." Second, your rhyme scheme is off. The meter for a limerick is two stressed syllables, followed by a stressed syllable. that he PLANNED his FUN er al is FAC tu al Notice how you have an extra unstressed syllable between "funeral is factual". Same with L4.

I love the irony. It's great that you could put three rhymes at the end of such a short piece.
