Bait and Switch

No tugs at his line; it just goes limp Mighty fisherman feels like a wimp Looking back at his bait box Wasn’t prepared for the shock A gull flew off with one of his shrimp I was talking to an elderly gent who was fishing from shore in Ormond Beach and this actually happened as he was giving me "fishing instructions." We had a good laugh watching the seagull steal the bait!

Nice Limerick, Carolyn! Bad luck for the poor fisherman and good luck for the gull!!! Enjoyed reading your Limerick today. Summer has not yet arrived and we still have spring temperatures at about 65 degrees. But some days ago there was a tornado north of Dresden (Saxony) and in parts of Brandenburg (near Berlin). Many houses were destroyed and a little girl died...Love, Gert

HEY! If I get to retire in FLA, the sea gulls can use my car for target practice and , with all that sunshine, I'll still be happy. Vince

You certainly have received a lot of comments your fishing poem. I can relate because the last time I went fishing I didn't catch a damn thing! My sister teaches grade school and I am an ESL writing assitant at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Have you ever tried Triond.com? They will publish anything you send them and there is a chance to earn money there. Happy fishing Yours Matthew Anish
