A Divorce Was the Best Thing For Me Then

(Haiku) kitten left for cat i got the knife in my back no she can't come back (limerick) when we were married she did'nt cook or clean fact is: she was only good for one thing when she left i cried and cried maybe once or twice thought of suicide many years latter it was realized my divorce was really a reward in disguise (couplet) i cannot say i hate you, but i will not be your friend it was very distasteful, the way you treated me in the end ( for the divorce club contest)

Fantastic, John! Should definitely be on the Winners' List as it's very well-written- a touch of sadness but hey, that's reality. Wishing you blessings, peace and joy for the season and always, Audrey

This gave me a chuckle on a cold morning. But I guess divorce is not a happy thought. Good luck in the contest. I did go back and finish White Dust since you felt it needed an end. Let me know what you think. Luv Phyl

john, i feel your pain. Good usage of all three styles in a conjoined theme. I particularly like the Haiku. Nicely done. Joe

Sometimes a divorce does appear to be "a reward in disguise," John. Your couplet at the end packs quite a punch, too. And I just love your "write in candidate" note at the end. Best wishes in the contest, dear friend. Love and blessings for a nice Thanksgiving, Carolyn
