Pity the Poor Katydid

Somehow you flew in and hid Right under my toilet lid Ouite sure you were dead 'Little pest!' I said Pity the poor Katydid! Saw a leg twitch, God forbid Guess what I done-gone-and-did? 'Okay, my green lass Go die in the grass' Pity the poor Katydid! *** Katydids are harmless bright green insects with large wings in the cricket-grasshopper family

Many congratulations Tim on your win in Carolyn & John's fine contest with this Limerick gem. What an unusual name for an insect. Have a great weekend >> James

I love your poem. But I wouldn't want a katydid to get on me while I'm in the bathroom. lol....Thanks for my evening enjoyment... Marty

How kind of you to free the Katydid, Tim. My late husband had this same type of sensitivity. He would pick up an insect and put it outside rather than let it die inside. This poem says a lot about your loving heart. Best wishes, Carolyn

That would be scary to raise the lid and one be there. Love the humor. Keep writing. Sara
