Out of the Mouths of Babes

Grandma, the little girl said Where do we go when we’re dead? We go with God up in heaven She told the young girl of seven And gently patted the top of her head. Then my goldfish who died I can say Is with God up in heaven today Little brother yelled no I know that ain’t so Cause I saw mommy flush him away!

This is so wonderful and fun to read on a Saturday morning. Yes, kids are so honest in their answers. It put a smile on my face, anyways. We always held funerals for our little animals, cats, birds, turtles, gold fish, hampsters, even a mouse once. Quite official, with flowers and speeches, and Dad would make a wee sign. "Here rests Sparkle, a very good goldfish." Your poem brought back some wonderful memories for me. Constance

Funny double limerick, Ralph. Hope the little girl realizes one day that our spirits live on long after our bodies are gone. I would have told her brother to stuff a sock in it. LOL Love, Carolyn
