Poor Charlie came home from school in tears He’d been teased about his huge jug ears His mum gave him a big kiss Said I wont tolerate this For the teasing had gone on for years The kids called him names like Dumbo For his huge ears hung down so low The doctor agreed There was a great need For these enormous ears to go Soon an operation was performed Charlie’s huge ears have now been transformed Now small and petite They look really neat His new lug holes can never be scorned 08~03~16

Hi Jan, a limerick with a little more serious theme. It is excelllent that you can do this kind of limerick also. It is funy how kids can be so hurtful. Still, you have such a style with this form. Your limericks can be so funny or so interesting, there is always something for everyone Jan. This has to be aseven. Have a good day tomorrow. Hugs....Mike. XX

SWEET set of story limericks, Jan. Cute picture. I did a story for Julia's contest. Too bad we don't get points any more. AT least I used to get SOMEthing for entering her contests. hahaha

I do feel for kids with this issue as peers can be so cruel and bullying is such a terrible thing to endure - I speak from personal experience - I was terribly bullied because I was short:-( hugs Jan xx

Hi Jan, You've penned a well written piece . I feel for poor Charlie. Sometimes kids can be so cruel. I know this all to well because I was often made fun of as kid. Well done-7:-) Alexis

Kids will find any little thing to pick on someone...He needs to stand tall and be proud of who he is...if we let others think we are different than we really are we lose.

Having large ears is a sign of generosity in a person. Sad limerick Jan. Now all Charlie has to do is grow a little more hair and open his eyes and the kids will quit making fun of him. Just kidding around!
