Before Takeoff

The planes were lined up in a queue, A reminder of something I knew. They awaited permission Like at intermission In theaters outside of the loo. One by one each one skyward immersed As the rest inched up closer to first But like women in line Still not given the sign There were tempers (and bladders!) to burst.

Your poem made me smile:-) I'm SO glad we have a tiny airport I'd start to get nervous if I was in a large queue and yes I know about the queuing for the loos lol!:-) hugs Jan xx

Really nicely done Ilene. I remember flights exactly like that, just wishing to push that jet down the runway. Very frustrating at the time but fun reading about it here. :)

Your poem is nostalgic for me Ilene. I remember one hot day at O'hare airport in Chicago sitting on the runway behind twenty two aircraft...I counted them. Passengers were more polite and understanding then as it was about thirty years ago....but those memories are vivid. I so enjoyed you taking me down memory lane because now that I am retired I don't have to deal with that anymore! Thank you! : )
